Flexographic printing mainly uses three types of ink: water-based ink, UV ink and organic solvent ink. Here's a look at the three inks in detail:
Hydrating ink:
Features: Water as the main solvent, environmental protection, meet green printing standards.
Uses: Primarily used in paper, cardboard, corrugated paper and highly absorbent substrates, including food packaging, medical packaging, newspapers and so on.
Strengths: non-toxic, minimal impact on the environment and human health, high printing sheen, bright color, fast drying, high productivity.
UV ink:
Features: UV curing, fast drying, strong adhesion. After curing, wear-resistant and alcohol-resistant network structure is formed.
Uses: Suitable for printing a variety of substrates, including paper and plastic film, such as labels and premium packaging.
Strengths: High printing quality, small dot gain, high brightness, fast curing speed, high production efficiency, environmental compliance.
Organic solvent ink:
Features: Volatile organic compounds as raw materials, good fluidity and drying performance. Usage: Mainly used in printing ofporous substrate, such as plastic film, such as plastic bags and composite packaging.
Note: Organic solvent inks release volatilized solvents during printing, potentially affecting the environment and human health. Strict pollution control measures must therefore be taken.
