Corrosion And Erosion Types

Corrosion and erosion types
The forms of compressor corrosion can be divided into two categories: comprehensive (uniform) corrosion and local corrosion. The former occurs more uniformly on the entire surface of the compressor, while the latter only occurs locally, such as pore corrosion, crevice corrosion, intergranular corrosion, stress corrosion, etc. The use of polymer composite materials for surface organic coating of compressors is one of the effective anti-corrosion measures. It has good chemical resistance, excellent mechanical properties, and adhesive properties. Compared with traditional pressure vessel welding repair, it has the characteristics of simple construction, low cost, and good repair effect.
Shell crack rupture
Compressor components often experience cracks or fractures due to casting, machining defects, internal stress, and overload operation. The conventional repair method is to use welding, but some parts are made of cast iron, aluminum alloy, or titanium alloy, making it difficult to perform welding treatment. There are also some hazardous situations that are prone to explosions, and welding repair methods are less likely to be used. The new "cold welding" technology can avoid thermal stress deformation, and at the same time, the material has good adhesion and comprehensive properties such as compression resistance and corrosion resistance, which can maximize the use requirements of the compressor and effectively ensure operation at the lowest cost.
